SEO Vs Content. Google has indicated that in the future, the quality of web content, its design and the user experience will be some of the key factors found in top-ranking websites, perhaps even more so than sites following all the usual SEO rules.
What does this mean? OK until proven otherwise the key elements of SEO for example keywords, headings and links should remain but content should engage the user more. I suspect that the time that a user spends on a site may become a factor in the websites ranking. The only way to achieve this is by having good content that the visitor finds engaging and will keep them coming back for more.
This could be achieved through video content, games and of course shopping – the retail experience! The days of dry boring websites with high keyword counts and headlines stuffed with keywords but almost unreadable, achieving high search engine listings may become a thing of the past, not before time in my opinion.
